NRSC activities presented at EASST All partners’ annual meeting

The National Road Safety Council (NRSC) of Armenia actively participated in the "EASST All Partners Week" annual meeting held from December 10-15, 2017. NRSC Director Poghos Shahinyan and Program Manager Tatevik Hovhannisyan represented the organisation, presenting their year's activities and exploring potential collaborative opportunities.

High-Level Conference on Sustainable Development Goals

A key event during the week was a high-level conference hosted by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. The conference focused on regional capacity building to achieve the Global Sustainable Development Goals on Road Safety, with a particular emphasis on halving road traffic accident fatalities by 2030. Participants unanimously agreed to take responsibility for working towards this crucial target.

Armenian Road Safety Expertise Showcased

During a panel discussion, NRSC Director Poghos Shahinyan presented insights on Armenia's road safety landscape and shared the experiences of the Automobile Club of Armenia. He emphasised strategies for developing cost-effective partnerships, highlighting the NRSC's approach to collaboration in the road safety sector.

Professional Development Opportunities

The meeting provided valuable professional development opportunities for the NRSC representatives:

- Presentation Skills Training: Matt Corker, Senior Practitioner at Presentation Techniques Company, conducted a session on delivering high-impact presentations. This training equipped participants with significant techniques and practical skills for effective communication.

- Strategic Planning and Management: Attendees participated in training sessions covering strategic planning, budgeting, communications, project monitoring, and evaluation. These topics directly relate to the daily activities of the NRSC, enhancing the organisation's operational capabilities.

Outcome and Future Prospects

The EASST All Partners Week proved to be a fruitful experience for the NRSC representatives. The event facilitated the exchange of innovative ideas and best practices among partners, providing the NRSC with fresh perspectives to enhance its road safety initiatives in Armenia.

This annual meeting underscores the importance of international collaboration in addressing global road safety challenges.
