The National Road Safety Council (NRSC) of Armenia has clinched the top honor in a prestigious video competition with its impactful public service announcement, "My Life is Yours."
At the awards ceremony, NRSC Executive Director Poghos Shahinyan delivered a compelling speech, emphasising the gravity of global road safety issues. He drew a stark comparison, stating, "Each year, 1.3 million people die in road accidents – equivalent to the population of Yerevan vanishing from the world."
The award-winning video, based on a song created in 2008, was designed to raise public awareness about road safety and promote the importance of seatbelt use. Its recognition underscores the effectiveness of creative approaches in communicating critical safety messages.
Shahinyan expressed gratitude to the Armenian government for its commitment to road safety initiatives. He urged all attendees to value life by adhering to basic road safety rules, reinforcing the video's central message.
The event drew a distinguished audience, including representatives from leading Armenian companies, prominent public figures, politicians, and business leaders. Their presence highlights the broad support for road safety initiatives in Armenia and the growing recognition of its importance across various sectors of society.
This accolade not only celebrates the NRSC's innovative approach to public safety communication but also serves to amplify the crucial message of road safety to a wider audience.
